Overview
EZ Light Switch is a free app for iPhone and iPad about flipping light switches. It has no accounts, no sign-in and no servers of its own: your flip count and settings live on your device and nowhere else.
The only third party that receives any data is Google AdMob, which serves the single banner ad that keeps the app free. Those ads are contextual only. The app never asks for your device's advertising identifier, shows no App Tracking Transparency prompt because it has nothing to ask for, and does not build a profile of you or follow you into other apps.
Contact and support
Questions, problems, feature requests or anything about your data: Business@joemet123.com. Put "EZ Light Switch" in the subject and you will have a reply within 30 days. Joemet123 LLC is the data controller for this app.
What the app stores on your device
Your total flip count, your per-switch counts, your best session, which switch you last used, and your chosen room are saved only on your device, using Apple's standard on-device settings storage. They are never sent to us and we never see them.
Deleting the app deletes all of it. The app does not ask you to sign in and does not collect your name, email address, contacts, photos, calendar, microphone, camera or precise location.
The app also keeps a locally cached record of whether you have removed ads, which it re-verifies with Apple each time it launches.
Advertising (Google AdMob)
The app shows one banner ad, served by Google AdMob, a service of Google LLC. To serve and measure that ad, Google's software in the app may collect:
- IP address, and an approximate, city-level location derived from it;
- device model, operating system version and language;
- whether an ad was shown, seen or tapped;
- diagnostic and performance information about ad delivery.
Google uses this to choose an ad appropriate to the moment, to measure whether it was delivered, and to detect fraud and invalid traffic. How Google handles it is described in Google's Privacy Policy and in How Google uses information from sites or apps that use its services.
What the ads deliberately do not do
Every ad request this app makes is configured three ways, and all three are on at all times for everyone:
- Non-personalised. Ads are chosen from the context, not from a profile of you. No interest profile is built or used.
- Child age-restricted. Requests are marked as directed to a child audience, which turns off personalised advertising, remarketing and interest-based targeting on Google's side regardless of any other setting.
- General audiences only. Ad content is capped at Google's "General" rating, the most restrictive one available.
Because of this, the app never requests the advertising identifier (IDFA), and it therefore shows no App Tracking Transparency prompt — there is nothing it would be asking permission for. It also includes no install-attribution measurement (no SKAdNetwork identifiers), so your installs are not matched back to ads you saw elsewhere. Nothing this app collects is linked with data from other companies' apps or websites for advertising, which is why it is declared as not tracking you. In the European Economic Area and the United Kingdom, a consent form from Google is shown before any ad is requested, and can be reopened at any time from the "Ad privacy choices" button in the app's bottom row.
Purchases (Apple)
The app sells exactly one thing: a one-time "Remove Ads" purchase that hides the banner ad permanently. It is sold through Apple's in-app purchase system. Apple processes the payment and holds your payment details; the app never sees your card or account information, only a confirmation from Apple that the purchase completed, which it uses to hide the ad. Purchases are governed by Apple's Privacy Policy and the App Store terms.
A "Restore purchase" button re-checks with Apple on a new device. Once ads are removed, the app never starts the Google ad SDK or its consent form at all. The purchase is not refundable except as Apple's policies provide.
Children
The app is offered to a general audience and is rated 4+. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone, of any age: the app has no accounts, no forms and no way to send us anything from inside it.
Because people of all ages use it, every ad request is nonetheless marked as directed to a child audience and non-personalised, which is the most protective configuration Google offers. If you believe a child has somehow provided personal information, contact us at the address above and we will delete it.
Your choices and rights
Because the app keeps your data only on your device, you control it directly: deleting the app removes your data. In the EEA and the UK, the "Ad privacy choices" button in the app's bottom row reopens the consent form. For the data processed by Google AdMob, you can exercise your rights with Google as described in its privacy policy. If you live in a region with data protection rights such as access, correction or deletion, write to us at the address above and we will help.
Security and retention
We operate no servers and hold no database, so there is nothing for us to retain, breach or hand over. Google retains advertising data under its own policies.
Changes
If this policy changes, the new version will be posted at this address with an updated effective date. If the app ever begins to collect something it does not collect today, that change will appear here and in the App Store's own privacy labels before it ships.
