Controls
- Fire a spike: left mouse, right trigger or R2.
- Detonate: hold right mouse, left trigger or L2.
- Recall / pull: reload (R on PC).
Spikes
- Magazine holds 8 spikes.
- Spikes stick to zombies, ground and walls and stay where they land.
- Killing does not cost a spike.
- Running too far from a spike loses it.
- Counter at zero: press reload. Spikes fly back and refill the magazine.
- Stay near your spikes for effectively unlimited ammo.
Ability 1: Regular Shots
- Shoot zombies directly.
- Every spike stays down as setup for the other abilities.
Ability 2: Detonate
- Hold alt fire to explode every placed spike.
- Kills or heavily damages zombies around them.
- Spikes return and refill the magazine, no reload needed.
- Repeat as often as you like.
Ability 3: Pull In Items
- Shoot the item with a spike.
- Hold reload.
Works on:
- Armor plates
- Equipment
- Power-up drops
Use it for drops you cannot safely reach.
Pulling Drops
- Get fairly close. It failed when too far away.
- Aim under the drop, not at the top of the icon.
- Shoot the spike, run toward the drop, then recall.
- Face the drop when you recall.
Overheal
- Stim Shots overheal at full health.
- Kills with the Gauntlet add overheal.
- Detonating restores health. About to go down: detonate.
- Overheal does not regenerate.
Best Strategy
Zursa and hordes:
- Fire spikes at the Zursa.
- Keep other zombies close to you and the spikes.
- Detonate for shot damage plus explosion damage.
- Magazine refills. Repeat.
Normal train: drop spikes, bring the train in close, detonate.
