Water Play: a toddler sensory sink for iPhone and iPad
A calming sink game for kids
Water Play is a real-feeling kitchen sink for little hands. Turn the taps, fill the bowl, pull the plug and watch it drain. No ads, no accounts, nothing to fail.
It is calm, open-ended sensory play for toddlers, preschoolers and every child who can't walk past a running tap. There are no levels, no timers and no wrong answers. Just water, bubbles and a rubber duck.

A toddler water game for little hands
Everything in the sink does something when it is touched, and a press that lands on dry steel still gets a drip, so nothing feels broken.
- Spin the hot and cold taps. A lamp lights up above each one, so it's clear when the water is on.
- Splash with as many fingers as you like. Every finger makes its own ripples and droplets.
- Pull the plug, watch the swirl, then pop it back in.
- Pump the soap into pink bubbles and foam.
- Wipe the steamy window with a finger when the hot tap has been running.
- Shoo the butterflies and bees off the wall.
- At night, flip the light switch and watch the lamps glow.
Sensory play with nothing to fail
- The sink can never flood, and nothing can go wrong. An overflow slot lets the bowl be filled for as long as anyone likes.
- The play never stops. If the bowl sits empty, the plug drops back in and the tap turns on again by itself.
- Soft sounds and gentle motion, a choice of running-water sounds and a mute button in the corner.
- One hint at a time, with a pulsing ring on the thing it names, and each one goes away for good once it has been used.
- Works fully offline, on the plane, in the car or in the waiting room.
A rubber duck bath game, and more toys
Poke a toy and it answers: the duck squeaks, the submarine dives with a trail of bubbles, and every toy bobs and drifts with the water. Free players get the rubber duck, the submarine and the penguin, with two in the bowl at once. The unlock adds a whale, a shark, a sailboat, a frog, a sea turtle and an octopus, and up to three toys at once.
Twelve windows look out on a garden, a farm, an aquarium, a rainy city, mountains, space, a kitchen, a beach, a forest, the Arctic, a desert and a jungle, each with its own things on the sill and its own visitors. Day, sunset and night skies are all free.
Autism-friendly, sensory-friendly play
Many autistic and sensory-seeking children are drawn to running water, and Water Play was built around that. It is designed to be predictable and calm: no timers, no scores, no fail states, no flashing rewards and no sudden loud sounds. Every control belongs to the child, there is no wrong order to do things in, and nothing needs to be read.
Water Play is a play app. It is not a therapy, a treatment or a medical device, and it makes no claims about outcomes. Every child is different, so the free version is there to try first.
Accessibility: with VoiceOver or Switch Control, every tap, toy, plug and critter is its own control with a spoken label.

For grown-ups: grown-up gate and privacy
- Made for Kids, ages 5 and under. Water Play is in the App Store's Kids category and complies with COPPA and the GDPR's rules for children's data.
- No ads. No subscriptions. No accounts. No third-party analytics, tracking or software development kits, no social features and no links out of the app.
- Grown-up gate: locked items show a padlock, and tapping one asks a multiplication question that has to be typed in before the purchase sheet appears, so a child tapping around can't reach a purchase.
- Settings are tucked away behind the gear button for you. They change how the sink looks, never what it does, and the sink itself has nothing to set up.
- No data collected. Water Play does not collect any data about you or your child. Read the Water Play privacy policy.
- Support: questions, a purchase that didn't arrive, or an idea for the sink? Use the Water Play support page.
Water Play FAQ
Is Water Play free?
Yes. Water Play is free to download and free to play, with four windows, three toys, two wall styles in six colors and the steady water sound. One optional $2.99 purchase, Unlock Everything, opens the other eight windows, six more toys and more for good, once, with no subscription.
Does Water Play have ads?
No. There are no ads of any kind, no pop-ups, no analytics and no links out of the app for a child to tap.
Does it work offline?
Yes. The sink runs entirely on the device, so it works on a plane, in a car or in a waiting room with no internet connection. Only buying or restoring the unlock needs a connection.
Is Water Play suitable for autistic children?
Many autistic and sensory-seeking children love running water, and Water Play was designed with them in mind: calm sounds, no timers, no scores, nothing that can fail and no sudden surprises. It is a play app, not a therapy or treatment, and every child is different, so try the free version first and see how your child responds.
What ages is Water Play for?
Water Play is made for children and is in the App Store's Kids category for ages 5 and under. There is no reading and nothing to win.
Does Family Sharing work with the unlock?
Yes. Unlock Everything supports Family Sharing, so one purchase opens everything on every device in your family group. If it does not appear, tap Restore in the settings.
Does it work on iPad and the iPhone Duo?
Yes. Water Play runs on iPhone and iPad with iOS 17 or later. On iPad the sink fills the screen, and on the iPhone Duo it fits the folded cover screen and stays clear of the camera.
Can my child buy something by accident?
No. Locked items show a padlock, and tapping one opens a grown-up gate, a multiplication question that has to be typed in, before the purchase sheet appears. A child tapping around the settings cannot reach a purchase.
